Beaminster to Toller Whelme Circular Walk

1. Leave Beaminster Square towards Bridport. Turn left into Whitcombe Road, left again into East Street and Hollymoor Lane. Follow road to bench, then along track between trees through gateway down track skirting left of farm buildings.
2. Continue up concrete road to public highway. Cross road, through gate opposite and through a second gate. Go down steep field starting close to left hand hedge but heading straight down to valley floor. At bottom turn left through two gates into next field.
3. Continue ahead passing to right of electricity pole to meet the right hand field boundary and stile. Cross stile, wooden bridge over stream and another stile. Walk towards top of meadow, keeping barbed wire fence and coppice to left, and electricity pole on brow of hill on right. At top, cross right hand stile. Cross field keeping close to left hand hedge to asphalt road. Turn left.
4. Continue through village, past Mapperton House drive on right. Where the road forks, continue straight ahead. Keep to road beneath beech trees, at right hand bend,ignore track on left and continue along road past Coltleigh Hill. At end of asphalt road at Coltleigh Farm go through farmyard and continue down bridleway onto track.
5. Through gate and shortly another gate. Ignore gate on track to left, continue keeping hedge on left. Through another gate and along bridleway to gate onto public highway. Turn left up road to Toller Whelme signpost. Turn right onto narrower asphalt lane. Pass lake on left, keep to left of East Farm, continue to Toller Whelme along unmade track.
6. At surfaced section of road and at sharp right hand bend, turn left onto bridleway beside West Farm. Through gate and continue by hedge to gate opening onto public highway. Turn left, pass entrance to Pipsford Farm on left. Beyond brow of hill, turn right onto a farm road to Langdon. Ignore left fork by elevated tank and pass sign to Higher Langdon Farm and continue to waymarked sign post by gate.
7. Turn left through gate and veer left across field to another gate, turn right down farm road. Follow road to left at junction with farm buildings and cottages, past Langdon Farm House and Lower Langdon Farm, bear right at bench and down to Hollymoor Lane then East Street. At junction bear right and right again up to Square.
